Material Specifications for Coffee Packaging

PET/AL/PE is our standard high-barrier structure. It uses a 12-micron PET outer layer, a 7-micron aluminum foil middle layer, and a 50-micron PE inner sealant layer. Total thickness is 100 to 120 microns. This structure achieves an oxygen transmission rate (OTR) below 0.5 cc/m²/day. It meets ASTM F1249 standards for moisture barrier testing.

Kraft/PE is our natural-look option. It uses a 35-micron unbleached kraft paper outer layer bonded to a 60-micron PE inner layer. Total thickness is 100 to 120 microns. OTR is 1.5 to 3.0 cc/m²/day. This material works for coffee that sells within 30 to 60 days.

PLA/PBAT is our compostable option. PLA is polylactic acid derived from corn starch. PBAT is polybutylene adipate terephthalate, a biodegradable co-polymer. Total thickness is 120 to 150 microns.
